1. Introduction
This Environmental Policy outlines the commitment of Metals Technology Testing Limited (hereinafter referred to as "the Laboratory") to environmental protection and sustainable practices. As a UKAS accredited laboratory, we recognize our responsibility to minimize our environmental footprint and operate in an environmentally sound manner. This policy serves as the foundation for our Environmental Management System (EMS).

- Continual Improvement: We are dedicated to the continual improvement of our Environmental Management System (EMS) to enhance environmental performance. This will be achieved through setting and reviewing environmental objectives and targets, regular monitoring, auditing, and management review.
- Resource Efficiency: We will manage our energy, water, and raw material consumption efficiently, exploring opportunities to reduce usage, promote reuse, and incorporate recycled content where feasible.
- Waste Management: We will prioritize the reduction, reuse, and recycling of waste generated from our activities. Where waste generation is unavoidable, we will ensure its safe, responsible, and legally compliant disposal, including hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
- Minimizing Environmental Impact: We will assess and manage the environmental aspects associated with our laboratory activities, including the use of chemicals, equipment, and processes, to minimize adverse impacts on air, water, land, and biodiversity.
- Life Cycle Perspective: We will consider the environmental aspects of our products and services over their life cycle where we have control and influence, from procurement of raw materials to end-of-life disposal, striving for more sustainable choices.
- Communication, Training, and Awareness: We will ensure that this policy is communicated to all employees and made available to relevant interested parties. We will provide appropriate training and promote environmental awareness among our staff to foster a culture of environmental responsibility.
- Stakeholder Engagement: We will engage with our stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, regulatory bodies, and the local community, on environmental matters as appropriate.

The updated policy will be communicated throughout the Laboratory and made accessible to the public upon request.
